The BG Brewery Trail

Brew lovers, rejoice! The BG Brewery Trail is here, taking you on a journey to three unique breweries in town, each offering a different drinking experience with music, food, and, of course, expertly brewed craft ales and lagers.

On this trail, we’ll take you from Arlyn’s, a tucked-away hidden gem with great jazz music, a rotating selection of food trucks, and a backyard-feeling drinking space. Arlyn’s is also home to the BG Pedal Company. The next stop is Brewing Green, located right next to Jac & Do’s Pizza, which makes the best cracker crust pizza in town to go along with a specialty beer and music. The third and final stop leads you out of our historic BG neighborhoods and into the heart of downtown at Juniper Brewing Company. It features a full-service kitchen, expertly crafted beers, and an interior that blends the feel of a refined craft brewery and a coffee shop, with natural wood features that make it truly unique.

Keep reading to learn what makes these breweries special and why you need to spend a Saturday on this trail.

Stop 1: Arlyn's Good Beer

Every great trail needs a starting line that sets the tone, and Arlyn’s does it perfectly. Tucked away on Hankey Avenue, this spot feels less like a brewery and more like the best backyard party you’ve ever been invited to. With laid-back seating, a relaxed crowd, and an outdoor setting made for lingering, you’ll want to settle in and stay a while.

The music is a big part of the magic. Arlyn’s leans into jazz, and there’s nothing quite like a smooth set drifting across the patio while you sip a cold pint. When hunger strikes, you’ll usually find a food truck parked on-site, and since the lineup rotates, you can expect different flavors each time. Check their Facebook page before to see what trucks are rolling in.

Don’t forget to bring your four-legged friend! Arlyn’s is dog-friendly, and its regulars have earned a spot on the chalkboard, so you may meet a few of the neighborhood pups by name. With more than 15 beers and ciders to choose from, there’s something here for every palate, whether you’re a hop head or a cider fan.

Arlyn’s is also home to the BG Pedal Company, which makes it a perfect launching point if your group wants to add a little extra fun to the day. It’s a reminder that this stop is about more than the beer. It’s a true neighborhood gathering place.

Why it’s special: A backyard soul, live jazz, rotating food trucks, and a warm welcome for you and your dog.

Stop 2: Brewing Green & Jac and Do's Pizza

Next, head over to Brewing Green at 322 N. Grove Street, the oldest operating brewery in Bowling Green. Housed in a historic industrial space, it has the authentic, off-the-beaten-path feel that craft beer fans love. There’s no pretension here, just great beer and great people.

Brewing Green pours small-batch beers that change regularly, so there’s always something new to discover. The taproom is made for hanging out. Challenge your friends to a game in the game room, catch live local music, or join the crowd for weekly trivia night, one of the easiest ways to meet a few new neighbors.

Then there’s the pizza. Right next door, Jac & Do’s Pizza serves up hot slices, including the cracker crust style that locals rave about. A fresh pint and a hot slice are a classic pairing, and here you’re only steps away from both. Add a little live music, and you have the makings of a perfect Saturday afternoon.

Why it’s special: It’s Bowling Green’s brewing original, with a community-first atmosphere, pizza next door, games, trivia, and live music.

Stop 3: Juniper Brewing Company

Your final stop takes you out of the neighborhoods and into the heart of downtown, where Juniper Brewing Company awaits at 145 S. Main Street. If Arlyn’s is the backyard and Brewing Green is the clubhouse, Juniper is the polished finale.

Juniper was founded by Bowling Green State University alumni Zach and Christine Tracy, who set out to create a true community hub: part brewery, part coffee shop, and part restaurant. The space honors a building with a history dating back to 1889, and its natural wood features and original hardwood floors give it a look that’s equal parts refined craft brewery and cozy café. The warm wood even extends to the bars.

Zach brings years of brewing experience to the taps, including time spent in Cleveland’s craft beer scene, and the beers are brewed right on-site. A full-service kitchen serves American comfort food with a fresh, seasonal, locally sourced twist, making Juniper the perfect place to cap off your day with a proper sit-down meal.

Here’s a fun twist: Juniper started as a coffee shop, and Zach has long experimented with infusing hops into cold brew coffee. If someone in your group isn’t drinking alcohol, there’s still plenty to enjoy, so everyone gets a seat at the table.

Why it’s special: A downtown destination with house-brewed beer, a full kitchen, a coffee bar, and a historic space unlike anything else in town.

So what are you waiting for? Make a plan to hit all three breweries this weekend on the BG Brewery Trail.
